8XBET Account Verification: Documents and How KYC Works

Verification links your 8XBET account to a real, adult identity before money leaves it. Here is when the check usually comes, which Nigerian documents are commonly accepted and how to avoid a rejection.

Account verification, often called KYC (“know your customer”), is the check that ties your 8XBET account to a real adult and to payment accounts in your name. It usually happens before your first withdrawal, though a large win or a change to your details can trigger it at any time. You upload a government ID and sometimes a proof of address or a photo of yourself, and the payout goes ahead once the documents match your profile.

Why bookmakers verify

Licensed operators have to keep minors out and stop their platforms being used to move stolen or laundered money. Strivora Limited, which trades as 8XBet, is listed on the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority’s register with a licence valid from 5 June 2026 to 4 June 2027, and regulated operators are expected to know who their customers are. Verification also protects you: once your account is locked to your identity, a stranger who learns your password cannot easily redirect your winnings.

When the request appears

  • Before the first withdrawal, which is the most common trigger.
  • After a win or a withdrawal much larger than your usual pattern.
  • When you ask to change your name, phone number or payout account.
  • If a security system flags unusual logins or payment activity.

A successful deposit does not mean the account is verified. Plenty of players discover the check only when they try to cash out, which is why doing it early saves a frustrating wait.

Documents commonly accepted in Nigeria

8XBET does not publish a document list on its public pages, so the request inside your account is the final word. The documents below are the ones Nigerian bookmakers ask for most often.

PurposeUsually accepted
Proof of identityNIN slip or NIMC identity card, international passport, FRSC driver’s licence, INEC permanent voter’s card
Proof of addressElectricity bill from your distribution company, bank statement or tenancy document, generally dated within the last three months
Proof of payment ownershipBank statement page or OPay or PalmPay account screen showing your name; for a card, a photo with the middle digits covered
Liveness checkA selfie, sometimes holding your ID, taken in the app or browser

An expired document is normally refused, so check the date on your passport or licence before uploading.

Which ID to choose

DocumentStrengthsWatch for
International passportClear photo, machine-readable lines, widely recognisedExpiry date; renewals take weeks
NIN slip or NIMC cardMost adults have a NIN; tied to your phone line and bank recordsPaper slips fade and crease, so photograph a clean copy
FRSC driver’s licenceDurable card with photo and date of birthExpired licences are common
INEC voter’s cardWidely heldNo expiry date, but older cards can be hard to read

Use the document whose name matches your betting profile most exactly. If your passport carries your married name and your NIN still shows your maiden name, pick the one that matches the account.

Proof of address without a utility bill in your name

Many Nigerian renters pay electricity through a landlord or a prepaid meter registered to someone else, so a bill in their own name does not exist. A bank statement showing your current address is the usual alternative. Ask support before uploading anything unusual, such as a tenancy agreement, rather than guessing.

Uploading, step by step

  1. Sign in at 8xbet.ng by typing the address yourself.
  2. Open the profile or account menu and look for a section called Verification, KYC or Documents.
  3. Pick the document type you are uploading, front side first.
  4. Take a fresh photo with the phone camera rather than choosing an old picture from the gallery.
  5. Add the back of the card if the form asks for it, then the address or payment proof.
  6. Complete the selfie step if one is requested, without glasses or a cap.
  7. Submit once and note the date and time.

Getting it right the first time

  • Match the names. The name on the ID, the betting profile and the bank account should be the same, in full. “Chiamaka N. Okafor” against “Okafor Chiamaka Nneka” may pass, but a nickname or a maiden name on one document will not.
  • Photograph the whole document. All four corners visible, flat on a dark surface, no thumb over the text, no flash glare across the photo.
  • Use daylight or a bright room. Blurry or dark images are the most common reason for rejection, and NEPA cuts after sunset make evening uploads a poor bet.
  • Upload the original photo. Edited, cropped-to-the-text or screenshot-of-a-screenshot files often fail automated checks.
  • Submit once and wait. Uploading the same file repeatedly can push your case to the back of the queue.

When your names do not match

Name mismatches are the most common reason Nigerian players fail KYC with 8XBET or any other bookmaker, because a person may be “Aisha Bello” on a voter’s card, “Aishat Bello-Musa” on a bank account and something else again on a NIN record. Start by asking support which mismatch they found. If the betting profile is wrong, they can usually correct it once they see your ID. If your documents disagree with each other after marriage or a name change, the standard Nigerian route is a sworn affidavit of change of name, usually backed by a newspaper publication, which banks and NIMC also accept when you update records. Fixing the bank or NIN record first and then verifying the betting account is slower, but it solves the problem everywhere at once.

Payment ownership and wallet limits

8XBET, like other licensed operators, pays out only to accounts in the account holder’s name. That rule stops a stolen account being emptied into a stranger’s wallet, and it also blocks payouts to a sibling’s account, however innocent the reason. Wallet tiers matter here too. Mobile money accounts in Nigeria sit in KYC tiers that cap daily transactions and balances; under the Central Bank’s 2017 limits, a Level 1 account was capped at ₦50,000 a day and a ₦300,000 balance (report on the CBN’s tiered limits). A ₦120,000 payout to a low-tier wallet can bounce for that reason alone, so upgrade the wallet with your BVN or NIN before a big withdrawal. Our guides to OPay and PalmPay explain how those wallets display the account holder’s name.

After you submit

No review time is published. Many checks clear within a day, but weekends, public holidays and unclear images slow things down. If the status has not moved after a few working days, contact support with the date you uploaded and ask what is outstanding. The support guide explains how to raise a ticket so it reaches the right team.

Staying safe while verifying

Upload documents only through the verification section after logging in at 8xbet.ng. Nobody needs your ID sent by WhatsApp, email to a personal address or a Telegram “agent”, and a genuine check never comes with a fee paid to an individual. If someone offers to “speed up” verification for money, they are a fraudster. An ID image in the wrong hands can be used to open loans or SIM lines in your name, so it deserves the same care as your ATM card.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask an operator what personal data it holds about you and request corrections. The account management hub covers those rights and what happens to your data when an account closes, and the withdrawal guide covers what happens once you are verified.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bet before I am verified?

Usually yes. The check is tied mainly to withdrawals, but it is worth finishing early so a win is not held up while documents are reviewed.

Do I have to submit my BVN?

Proof of identity is normally a photo ID or NIN, not a BVN. Treat a request for your BVN by phone, chat or email as a warning sign, because no genuine verification flow needs it sent to an individual.

Will I have to verify again later?

Possibly. A new payout account, a change of name or phone number, an expired document or a much larger withdrawal than usual can all bring a fresh request, even on an account verified years ago.

I have no bank account. Can winnings go to a relative’s account?

No. Payouts go only to accounts in your own name, and a request to pay a relative will normally be refused. Opening a wallet with OPay, PalmPay or a similar provider takes a few minutes with your BVN or NIN and gives you an account in your own name for payouts, which then passes the ownership check.

My details were wrong when I registered. What now?

Contact support before you upload anything and ask them to correct the profile against your ID. The registration guide lists the fields that most often cause trouble. Verification also confirms that you meet the minimum betting age of 18.
